Fromwithin is a collection of sculptural works crafted by hand using clay. Through this series, Sephiran transitions from her illustrative practice and takes a more abstract and three-dimensional approach to her work. This series serves as a moment of reflection for Sephiran, as she explores her artistic practice and embraces her evolution as a human and spirit. Marking a pause in Sephiran’s artistic journey as she embraces a newfound appreciations for intuitive and instinctive creativity.

Through the process of hand sculpting clay, Sephiran explores the tactile and sensory experience of creating art. Finding herself embracing the unknown and embracing imperfections. As someone with a background in visual storytelling and deliberate, rigid illustrative skills that often adhered to specific texts, briefs, and predefined concepts, she now celebrates the beauty in the raw and unrefined qualities of the sculptures. This process involves being open to vulnerability, as Sephiran ventures into the unfamiliar territory of building without prior planning, deliberately choosing to create in the present moment. Each sculpture takes on a life of its own, as she allows her creative intuition to guide her hands, allowing the clay to take shape naturally and organically.

The imperfections become a part of the narrative, telling a story of growth and embracing vulnerability, surrendering control, and allowing oneself to be a vessel for creative energy to flow through. Allowing Sephiran to tap into a deeper level of creativity and express herself in a more authentic and free-flowing manner. She becomes attuned to the energies around her, channeling them into her art and letting them guide her decisions. By relinquishing control, she opens herself up to new ideas and possibilities, creating art that is infused with a sense of spontaneity and freedom.
